About ValheimSeed.com

ValheimSeed.com is a free, browser-based Valheim seed viewer and world generator. Type any seed, see the whole world: biomes, boss altars, the trader Haldor, dungeons and their coordinates — before you spend a single hour in game. The tool runs entirely in your browser, works on desktop and mobile, and asks for no account, no download and no payment.

Why we built it

When Valheim 1.0 arrived, it rebuilt the far north of every world into the Deep North and changed how new worlds generate. Most seed tools were built years ago and didn't keep up. We wanted a fast, mobile-friendly viewer that follows the current world structure — Deep North in the far north, Ashlands in the far south — and that anyone can use instantly, with no account and nothing to install.

The second reason is simpler: choosing a world is a commitment. A bad spawn turns the first ten hours into a walking simulator; a great one puts you next to a Black Forest with iron, a Meadow with building room, and Eikthyr within jogging distance. We think every player deserves to see that before committing — the same way the community has always shared seed screenshots on Reddit and Steam forums, just faster and for any seed you like.

How the engine works

Your seed is hashed into a number that drives every layer of generation: continents and oceans, biome zones by distance and noise, then location placement for bosses, traders and dungeons. The same seed always produces the same map, which is what makes sharing and comparing worlds possible. The engine follows the structure of Valheim's 1.0 world generation and we are continuously tuning it toward game-exact placement.

Honesty note: coordinates from this site are a planning aid produced by our own approximation engine, not a save-file parser. Community guides recorded on older patches may list different numbers for the same seed, and world generation can shift between game versions. Use the previews to compare layouts, then verify critical locations in game before you commit your base to a spot. We label every preview this way rather than pretending to be exact — trusting a tool that hides its limits is how you lose a weekend.

How we curate the seed library

Our curated seed library is hand-picked, not scraped. Every seed comes from public community recommendations — coverage by outlets like PC Gamer, Beebom and PlayerAuctions, plus seeds that surface again and again on Reddit and Steam discussions. We cross-check the claims, run each seed through our own engine, and write an original analysis page for it. Sources that could not be verified are left out.

The library is a living list: we review community sources regularly, and players can send us a seed through the contact page — if it checks out, it gets its own page with full credit.
